Terrifying goblins running rampant through the town!

Episode 4 – Don’t Wake Daddy

Wednesday, May 24, 2017

The skeletons prove no match for the Saviors of Sandpoint! After defeating the undead abominations, the heroes investigate the burial vault. One of the four coffins in the vault has been smashed. Within the rubble, Niko finds a nameplate bearing the name “Ezekien Tobyn.” There is no sign of Ezekien’s body. Behind the dais, Krask finds a musty brown robe exuding a faint magical aura. Sheriff Hemlock arrives. He suspects the attack may have been a cover-up for the burial vault raid and tells the crew he may need their help in the future.

In the interim, the town of Sandpoint rebuilds. The townsfolk acknowledge Silas, Krask, and Niko for their help defending Sandpoint. Krask sells his horsechopper to Das Korvut at the Red Dog Smithy. Niko checks in with his boss, Hannah Velerin. She is upset with the death that took place in Sandpoint, as well as Niko’s part in it. Silas decides to train at the local garrison.
On his way to the garrison, Shayliss Vinder confronts Silas. She asks for his help removing a large rat from the general store basement. Silas agrees to investigate, only to find out Shayliss invented the rat story. She is actually interested in sharing carnal pleasures with Silas. Silas entertains her interest. Mid-coitus, Shayliss’s father, Ven Vinder, discovers the pair. After a heated exchange, Ven knocks out Silas. The townsfolk treat the scandalous Silas and his associates with a little more distrust (mechanically, -2 to all future Diplomacy checks within Sandpoint).

Later, the heroes meet up with Aldern Foxglove at The Rusty Dragon. He gives the group 50 gold. Aldern convinces the heroes to accompany him on a boar hunt in the nearby Tickwood Forest, known for its impressive game. He also verifies what other townsfolk were saying about the goblin attackers; they were eating food, tripping over things, and even lighting themselves on fire. It was borderline comical.

In the morning, Aldern purchases two horses and a pony from Daverin Hosk for the Sandpoint Three. They trek into the Tickwood Forest, regaled by Aldern’s praises for Silas’s bravery and strength. They soon arrive at a pile of large stone ruins and see an enormous boar. It’s hunting time!

Will our heroes be able to slay the giant boar? Where is Ezekien Tobyn’s body? How on earth did that old man knock out Silas?
