Terrifying goblins running rampant through the town!

Episode 16 – Get Richard, Sty Spyin’

Tuesday, September 5th, 2017

Following the battle with Warchief Ripnugget and Friends, the party begins an in-depth exploration of the stockade’s main level, keeping their eyes peeled for locked doors to open with their new janitorial-sized set of keys. But first, they address the growling situation – an albino wolf is staked to the ground, surrounded by a menacing quad of goblin dogs. The party quickly dispatches the beasts, but Fobias recognizes the wolf from his travels and the two form a connection. Animal Companion +1!

Early in their search for Nualia and Thistletop’s secrets, Fobias uncovers a separate key hidden inside a tattered chair cushion, which heightens the party’s anticipation of what’s to come. Krask uncovers a small symbol of Lamashtu – yet another reference to the demon in this place. They also find an emaciated warhorse deprived of food caged up who they decide to return to at a later point. The narrow walls of a fortress are no place for a pony.

Other notable events include Silas busting walls, Fobias freeing rabbits, a pickle-juice mystery, and Niko finding a latrine.

At long last, the party concludes that they have exhausted their investigation and slow descend to the first basement level. Everything is dark save for the light cast by a lone torch onto the cold, stone floor. Once again, the party is confronted with the crippling choice of which door to open, as many present themselves before them. Lacking deliberation, Niko opens one of the closest doors, revealing an….intimate sight: four goblin women embracing an enormous bugbear.

What ever happened to respecting the privacy of others?

The enraged bugbear throws the women off his chest and bellows in rage, grabbing his heavy flail in a meaty fist. Although the goblin women charge at the group with their small swords, they are easily cut down by Silas and Fobias who are flanking the doorway. Thus, only the bugbear remains, furious at the loss of his earthly desires and the interruption of his corpulent hobbies. He challenges Silas and they exchange blows before being ultimately defeated.

And as the bugbear’s body slumps lifeless to the ground, another door opens. There, standing with regal bravado, is an exceptionally handsome man clad in metal armor who is wielding a tall shield and longsword: the man covered in tin.

“My brother! Bruthazmus! You all have slain one of Nualia’s servants, and you shall pay for your crimes!”

Why were the rations boarded up and nailed shut? What will become of the newly-freed rabbits? Where are the cowardly lion and the scarecrow?
